HANASAKA MURAL is art that anyone can easily enjoy. Art is not something to be appreciated only in museums, nor something that belongs only to someone else. Mural, wall art, is still unfamiliar in Japan, but we hope that many works of art will be born from this place and bloom in the world. With this in mind, we have named the project HANASAKA which means “to make flowers bloom” in Japanese. YANMAR has been supporting the next generation of athletes, and now we are expanding our support to artists who inspire people with our HANASAKA MURAL.

This mural depicts four women standing in line, each striking a pose that symbolizes strength and empowerment. The unity and resilience they represent are a celebration of women’s uniqueness and strength, reflecting the core concept of the piece’s theme, “Onna-dake” (Women Only). Each portrayed woman is surrounded by elements of nature, signifying their connection with life and the world. The powerful imagery and vibrant colors actualize the concept, lauding women’s resilience, beauty, and their power to shape the world. This mural is not merely art but a celebration of women’s power and solidarity, aiming to inspire all who gaze upon it.

About the work

In the ‘Onna-dake’ (Women Only) painting by Yessiow, we can feel the strength of women and the unity created by that strength. This work is depicted through an exquisite balance of warm color usage and a minimal, pared-down composition. It’s her unique expression, as she understands the beauty of simplicity.

CURRENT ARTIST

YESSIOW

An Indonesian muralist and illustrator from Bali, Yessiow has been familiar with art from a young age and has been accumulating skills and building a career as a muralist since 2013. The works of Yessiow are deeply influenced by the natural objects she loves and vibrant colors. She likes to see her murals become part of the daily lives of the community and is always absorbed in the activities of people who pass in front of her art every day. Yessiow is especially passionate about encouraging more female street artists to share their talents with the world. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to present their own work and deliver their voice through art.
