ARTWORK

TO EACH THEIR OWN!

Artist Comment

I imbue my artwork with feelings that can reach people who, unexpected to themselves, find themselves viewing it.
I soaked up the muggy heat of Japan, immersed myself with the people around the Yodoko Sakura Stadium, and enjoyed superb cuisine as part of my creative process.
My work references the unimaginable power of the heron, a bird associated in mythology with the genesis of life itself. It is a piece that invites viewers to experience the richness of global humanity coming together and advancing hand-in-hand—an open-ended narrative with infinite possibilities for interpretation.
I'd be happy if viewers could find their own appeal in the space created by HANASAKA and carry it somewhere in their memories.

About the work

In addition to the distinctive white egret, a myriad of motifs including expressions representing iron, flowers, and soccer balls are well-drawn in balance. Embedded within the work are also letters that evoke graffiti, tracing back to the artist's roots, providing numerous focal points for the viewer's enjoyment.
