Assembly Line

Rice transplanters, which are spring products, and combine harvesters, which are autumn products, are manufactured on three lines: one line for each of these two products, and a multipurpose line (that can be adjusted to manufacture either product). The multipurpose line adjusts the number of rice transplanters and combine harvesters to market needs, thus ensuring that supply and demand are in balance and that the factory can deliver products quickly.

Final assembly of tractors is carried out on a newly built large-scale assembly line using the latest equipment in a controlled, coherent work environment.

Multipurpose lines

By manufacturing several types of products on one line, production can be adjusted to demand. This leads to lower inventory, smoothing of manpower usage and work processes, and consistent quality.

Welding Line

Welding of large items such as chassis frames and blade frames is carried out by approximately 30 robots for arc welding and spot welding.

Painting Line

Parts are painted on this line using one of three types of painting: solvent painting, powder painting, and cationic electrodeposition painting. Depending on which machine the parts are for—rice transplanters, combine harvesters, or tractors—the painting method used is the one most suitable for the application.

Devices for Solvent and Powder Painting

These painting devices can carry out solvent painting and powder painting. In solvent painting, thinner and paint are blended and static electricity is used to spray the solution; it is mainly used for low-positioned parts. Powder paint is applied by frictional electrification; it is mainly used for exterior parts. A total of 14 colors can be used with solvent painting, but only five are commonly used: navy blue, white, red, low-gloss black, and saffron yellow. The solvent painting process is flexible enough to handle multicolor painting. Powder painting is done with the three colors mainly used at Yanmar: navy blue, white, and red.

Cationic Electrodeposition

This process is mainly used for rice transplanter parts. Cationic paint is applied using electricity and gives a thin, even coating. It is also highly resistant to rust. With this process, parts go into a cation tank, allowing parts like pipes to be fully coated even on the inside. This process is ideal for rice transplanters, which must work in water and dispense various chemicals.

Inspection Line

In test drive inspections, computers are used to check products' electrical systems and operational functions. Products are then placed on tracks and put through operations simulating actual use. Inspection ensures that all parts are tightly attached and that electrical components are properly wired. Tractors undergo power take-off load testing and shower testing.
