In collaboration with MAFF and an NPO committee which promotes the incorporation of robotics in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, Yanmar has been field testing its robot tractor, working towards autonomous robotics integration in the agricultural industry. The booth at the exhibition is a collaborative effort amongst the three parties involved in the research. It will provide a valuable opportunity for attendees to see autonomous machinery that is currently under development, in addition to giving them a sneak peek into the future of farming.

With intensive agriculture and large scale farming on the rise, there is an every greater demand for highly efficient Ag equipment, and Yanmar’s fully-autonomous Robot Tractors are the perfect answer to maximizing productivity. In addition to being equipped with GPS equipment and an autonomous operation system, a tablet user interface is also included, empowering human monitoring and unrestricted control.

Through its utilization, farmers will be able to cut back on the number of workers needed to complete tasks, all the while being able to execute operations with the highest levels of safety. For work that has up until now required a high degree of manual dexterity, innovative technology is closing the gap to provide those who are less experienced with a more accessible gateway into the farming industry. With a larger number of young people taking up professions in this field, the overall competitiveness of the agricultural sector in Japan is expected to increase to international market standards.
