Global Models Available in Europe and North America from 2016

Yanmar is taking a bold step into North America and Europe with its latest agricultural machinery. The YT series of large-sized tractors displayed at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show incorporate universal design* elements, and variants with different displacements are being developed with an eye toward global markets. Brand new small and mid-sized models will be available through our local subsidiaries in North America and Europe as early as the spring of 2016.

While North America is known for large-scale farming, recent years have seen an increasing demand for tractors among lifestyle farmers, and Yanmar is ready to respond to these needs with products of superior quality, innovative design and high operational performance.

  • *Yanmar is accelerating global market development for agricultural machinery that incorporates a universal design concept. This has been adopted as one of Yanmar's fundamental strategies and is called the GMS (Global Module Strategy).

Products on Display at Tokyo Motor Show 2015

1. State-of-the-art tractor designed by world-famous industrial designer, Ken Okuyama

Based on the concept of “Create New Farming”, the tractor is the creation of Ken Okuyama, renowned industrial designer and Director of Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd.

In Japan, with the number of professional farmers and community farming organizations steadily growing and the scale of farming expanding, there is an increasing demand for efficient, high performance agricultural machinery that can also contribute to operational cost reductions. This tractor, developed based on the concept "A FUTURE—Aiming at Cutting-edge Farming," is an advanced variation of the tractor displayed as a concept model at the last Tokyo Motor Show, in 2013.

The YT5113 Limited Edition large-sized tractor, created especially for this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, employs a number of features of the 2013 concept tractor. Yanmar's flagship model, the tractor embodies such appealing characteristics as "COMFORT, CONTROL and POTENTIAL" that are sure to capture the attention of professional farmers.

2. Stylish, all-in-one tiller for the hobby farmer market

With a growing public awareness of food safety and security as well as increasing preference for fresh and tasty produce, the number of people running home vegetable gardens is on the rise. Yanmar’s YK-MR mini tiller on display at Tokyo Motor Show 2015 has been developed in pursuit of just such operability, functionality, design and comfort, to satisfy the diverse needs of this customer bracket. The groundbreaking YK-MR is based on the concept of compact design and enhanced ease-of-use. With one-touch-lever maneuverability, the series brings ease of maintenance and operator safety all in one package. In addition, using the QR code of the tiller, the operator can easily verify the various functions of the machine using Smartphone technologies.

3. [A FUTURE] New Farming for Everyone -Yanmar's challenge-

Our products on display at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015 communicate Yanmar's proposals for new farming to a broad audience, not limited to professional farmers.

Yanmar not only develops and sells cutting-edge agricultural machinery, it is also proposing new forms of farming from a broad range of perspectives.

While providing the world markets with innovative products, Yanmar will continue to emphasize the importance of agriculture as a key industry for sustaining human life, determined to raise the bar to ever-higher levels of quality and performance.
