Sophie Serrurier
Customer Sales Administration Assistant
We interviewed a cross-section of those who work for us to find out more about life with Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA.
Customer Sales Administration Assistant
I’ve been working within the Sales Administration Department since 2007. My scope has evolved with the organisational changes of the company. My department oversees all the EMEA region, and I am now responsible for key accounts in Italy, the UK, Scandinavia, the Baltics and Eastern countries, and in key export areas such as Israel.
I register the orders, make the invoices and answer all of the different requests I receive about delivery time, price or machine availability. I’m also in charge of the second-hand machines and of the activation of the “SmartAssist Remote” for all machines equipped with it.
I like the contact with the dealers. Since I’ve been working at Yanmar for some years now, we know each other very well. I understand their expectations and I try to help them the best that I can with their business.
Every day, I speak different languages; it allows me to have interesting exchanges with a lot of people. Every country is different, with its own culture, and this is very exciting.
I have a variety of tasks that allows me to be in contact with a lot of departments internally (e.g. the Sales, Accounting, Planning and Shipping departments).
I’ve been working at Yanmar for 13 years and time has passed so quickly. There are always new things to do, new challenges to overcome.
Yanmar is a strong company, always trying to evolve.
Yanmar is famous all around the world and I’m always happy when a customer says that Yanmar products are of very good quality. When we come into contact with Yanmar in the outside world, for example at big trade fairs, we can really see that Yanmar is a big and great company.
Head of Controlling
I joined Yanmar in 2018 as Head of Controlling.at Yanmar Compact Germany (YCG).
I deliver relevant information for the decision makers, I manage the budget, financial forecasts and medium term planning (MTP) for YCG as well as the monthly closing process. I also lead the YCG controlling team and finance collaboration initiatives.
Working in an international environment is exciting. What also pleases me is knowing that I am making a contribution to building the future of my company.
What I appreciate at Yanmar are the group's missions and values, and as they apply to each of the company’s different entities. In addition, I appreciate Yanmar's long term-oriented approach.
I am proud to work for a company with high ethical standards and which cares for its people.
In Charge of HR Development
I joined Yanmar in October 2018. I am in charge of HR Development.
The red thread of my position is to support employees, including students, in the various stages of their professional career or development at Yanmar. In particular, I participate in internal and external recruitment and I develop the integration and/or mobility paths of employees. I also ensure that the training needs of our employees match the company's development strategy. Finally, I am in charge of supporting our Japanese expatriates in France in their daily life endeavours.
I particularly appreciate the fact of being in direct contact with different audiences: candidates, employees, or partners. Creating a relationship of trust with those I come into contact with is very important to me.
I like the idea of being able to support employees in their professional career choices by offering them tools to make it go well both for them and for the company. Everyone has their own expectations. On the recruitment side, the tools are evolving quickly. We meet candidates but must also be curious, especially on the technological aspects, to attract the right people for the company. Every day has its share of new things; there is no routine!
Yanmar is a dynamic company which offers real career opportunities to its employees. I appreciate the positive state of mind of the people here: their warm welcome, team spirit and support.
The international context is fascinating. It allows me to practice English and interact with people from different cultures. It is very enriching.
Finally, many events are organised by Yanmar throughout the year. This creates real cohesion and a sense of belonging to the company.
Yanmar is recognised worldwide thanks to the reliability and quality of our machines.
When I go to job fairs, I am proud to see that our products arouse envy and curiosity among technical students.
More locally, Yanmar participates in community life by being a partner in a lot of sporting and cultural events. It is very rewarding to work for a major local economic player.
