Engine Donation for Thailand

YANMAR S.P. (Yanmar Thailand, hereafter YSP) in August 2007, donated 2 Horizontal Water-Cooled Diesel Engines to Department of Agricultural in Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives for agricultural developments in Thailand and the public relations activities of Yanmar Brand. The department installed the engines to rotary implements jointly developed with a local company and conducted a test at the agricultural experimental facility run by Thai Royal Family. The day of the experiment was attended such as by a Minister of Agriculture, administration officials, representatives for farmers, and Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Her Royal Highness went into the paddy on her own and conducted smooth planting. Thailand has developed into an agricultural country, and over 40 % of the population work in farming today. However, due to current economic growth, a number of migrant workers has increased, thus, shortage of hand in rural villages has grew into a serious problem. There is an urgent need to mechanize agriculture. The ceremony was aired on TV, and YSP has been receiving numerous inquiries from related parties.
