YANMAR Technical Review

Editor's Postscript

October 1, 2019

Of the four seasons, spring and autumn are the ones which are most comfortable, and they are my favorite time of year. In recent years however, I feel that these seasons have become much shorter. When the cold winter is over, rather than turning warm, the weather soon becomes hot, and this heat continues through to the end of September. The pleasant temperatures of Autumn pass by so quickly, before the coldness of winter arrives yet again. It seems to me that we are spending more and more time in summer clothing. While I do not know whether this is due to the impact of global warming, what is certain is that the seasons in Japan are changing, although I hope that Japan will continue to have four distinct seasons forever.

In this issue we introduced products related to agricultural machinery, construction equipment, general-purpose engines, and energy systems, as well as three articles detailing technology researched and developed at Yanmar. The auto rice transplanter introduced in this issue is the second phase of our agricultural automation technology, following on from our Robot Tractor. I hope that through these innovations you all can feel a sense of excitement.

We are committed to continuing to introduce our cutting-edge technologies and initiatives, so please take a moment to read through.
