(November 16, 2022) Osaka, Japan – Yanmar Energy System Co., Ltd. a group company of Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. has delivered a 35kW output micro cogeneration system fueled by methanation gas (synthetic methane*) as part of a demonstration facility at the Yokohama Techno Station of Tokyo Gas Co. A demonstration test unit was delivered on September 14, 2022.

This unit achieves the same power generation output as the CP35D2 gas cogeneration system fueled by the municipal gas supply by modifying the fuel system components of the engine to match the lower calorific value of methanation gas compared to municipal gas. In addition, by maintaining engine combustion similar to that of municipal gas, the system meets the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission standard concentrations stipulated in the "Yokohama City Ordinance Concerning the Preservation of the Living Environment”. The unit is scheduled to be utilized for operational tests using methanation gas produced at the demonstration test facility.

The Yanmar Group is promoting the YANMAR GREEN CHALLENGE 2050 to realize a decarbonized society. Going forward, YES will continue to develop technologies for decarbonized fuels and contribute to solving customers' energy issues and realizing a decarbonized society.
