In the spirit of giving for the holiday season, YANMAR America recently participated in two initiatives designed to help people in its local community and across the globe.

First, YANMAR America once again acted as a collection site for Toys for Tots. Founded in 1947, Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes new toys to children whose parents can’t afford gifts for the holiday season. During it’s almost 70 years of operation, the organization has distributed more than 46 million toys to more than 216 million children. This year, YANMAR America employees completely filled two large collection boxes with toys, as well as made monetary donations.

Second, YANMAR America hosted a blood drive on Friday, December 5 in which the American Red Cross was able to collect 22 pints of blood from 24 donors. This blood drive was just one of many held throughout the year with statistics from the Red Cross showing that just one pint of blood can help save up to three lives.

These activities are just a couple of examples of the philanthropic activities YANMAR America employees are involved in throughout the year. The company has dedicated itself to serving for a better world not just through the products it brings to the market, but also through its corporate actions.
