In a steadfast effort to further market Yanmar engines to the Philippine market, Yanmar Asia (YASC) participated in the Marine Philippines 2015 exhibition held in Manila from Jun 17 to Jun 19. Representatives from Yanmar Japan were also present to lend their support to the team. The convention was co-located with Shipbuild Philippines 2015 and Offshore Philippines 2015.
Taking up an impressive three booth spaces, the Yanmar team managed to advertise Yanmar products to a wide audience, especially the 6AYM and 6LPA series. An estimated 150 potential customers registered their interests with the team, hoping to discuss things in details after the exhibition.
“Marine Philippines 2015 is an excellent platform for Singapore companies to showcase their products and services to the region, gain contacts and network with trade visitors,” wrote Mr. Oliver Tian, the President of Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA).
As it stands, Philippines is currently the world’s fourth largest shipbuilding industry, according to Statista. This gives rise to plenty of profitable opportunities, with many international companies, including YASC and Azumi, targeting this lucrative market despite the tough competition.
During his formal presentation at the exhibition, President Fujii of Azumi Corporation predicted that the Yanmar 6AYM will face high demands by the Philippine market. He also emphasized that, “bigger engines are more expensive but can be compensated in a year,” explaining the connection between annual fuel savings and cost savings.
On the whole, this collaborative effort to reach out to the Philippine market proved a fruitful venture for both YASC and Azumi Corporation, opening potential new doors for future opportunities.
