At the core of Yanmar's values is the concept of "HANASAKA", a Japanese word that translates as “to make flowers bloom”. For Yanmar, HANASAKA embodies the idea of "letting the people and the future bloom." This concept, which symbolizes the nurturing of human potential, originated in the thinking of Yanmar's founder, Magokichi Yamaoka. Magokichi developed a compact engine to ease farm work, thereby freeing a generation from back-breaking labor and driving prosperity – an early example of HANASAKA. It drives the company's commitment to innovation and societal contributions, all powered by the dedication of Yanmar's employees, who embody the spirit of HANASAKA. This value is fundamental to Yanmar and is reflected in the company's initiatives to develop the next generation, foster culture, and support sporting activities.
As part of Yanmar's commitment to A Sustainable Future, we have also launched the initiative YANMAR GREEN CHALLENGE 2050, aiming to become a zero-impact company with no greenhouse gas emissions.
