YPV is a vision that visualizes the ideal form of each business area as projected for 2035, guided by the philosophy of “Intrinsic Design,” which prioritizes inherent functional value and meaning over conventional styles. It also embodies Yanmar’s design philosophy of “Gentleness & Toughness” reflecting the company’s tradition of creating machinery that is both user-friendly and capable of withstanding demanding environments.
By platformizing new design elements, cabin structures, and HMI (Human Machine Interface) features defined through YPV’s design, Yanmar aims to achieve efficient product development and enhance user-centric functionality.
A concept design tractor developed with innovative design philosophy for the agriculture of 2035. Yanmar, with its longstanding tradition of creating machinery that supports people and withstands demanding environments, expresses this design with the philosophy of “Gentleness & Toughness”
Breaking from conventional norms, the cabin has been moved forward to significantly enhance comfort for long hours of operation. The tractor is also designed with adjustable tire treads, making it adaptable for a variety of tasks. Additionally, it accommodates a cab-less, fully automated configuration, enabling customization to suit various work environments and operator needs.
With a declining farming population and an aging workforce, the field of agriculture is undergoing significant changes, and so are the functions required of tractor cabins. Once considered specialized tools for professionals, today’s high-tech advancements demand products accessible to all.
The driver’s seat is equipped with a large monitor for intuitive operation and functions as a command center, controlling other autonomous agricultural machinery.
By sharing the cabin across products, efficient development is achieved while ensuring operability for all users—from beginners to professionals—enabling intuitive, high-level operations.
With the YPV-C, Yanmar is advancing the electrification of construction machinery in anticipation of an increase in renovation and indoor work. For rapid deployment to sites during disasters, wheels (tires) optimized for mobility are used instead of crawlers.
Battery endurance and power supply, key challenges in electrification, are addressed with a self-propelled battery vehicle that enables automated power supply as needed.
The YPV-C also supports a cab-less configuration.
The YPV-S is a foiling sailboat designed to introduce a new marine lifestyle. Based on Yanmar’s accumulated marine technology and expertise, it combines foiling, which lifts the hull through lift, with wind-powered sailing, maximizing natural forces in both propulsion and onboard experience design.
With automated sail control, the YPV-S aims to allow more people to enjoy a rich experience on the water without requiring advanced sailing skills.
