Yanmar Extends Its Energy Product Lineup with 300 kW-class Biogas Generator Sets

On October 1, Yanmar Energy System Co., Ltd. (YES) will commence sale of its new 300 kW-class biogas generator sets — the BP275G and the BP325G. Both sets are equipped with Yanmar’s 6 cylinder low BTU gas engines. The Yanmar Group was behind all development and production, and the experimental testing took place in collaboration with a wastewater treatment plant at the Mogami River Basin in Yamagata prefecture, Japan.
With regulatory reforms intended to boost Japan’s renewable energy mix, such as the Feed-in Tariff Scheme (FIT) for renewable energy which was put into effect in July of 2012, and the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy’s Strategic Energy Plan approved in April 2014, which aims to raise the renewable energy ratio to 22-24% by 2030, increased growth in the Japanese biogas energy market is projected.
With over 500 units in the 25 kW-class already in the market, YES is continuing to strengthen technological development and enlarge its product lineup to better meet diverse needs. Its future undertakings involve increased collaboration with wastewater treatment and food residue facilities for the provision of enhanced environmentally-sustainable solutions.
