TWO NEW HIGH-POWER INDUSTRIAL DIESEL ENGINES 4TN101/4TN107
BEST CHOICE FOR OFF-ROAD UP TO 155kW
Yanmar has developed two new high-power industrial diesel engines, the 4TN101 and the 4TN107. With a maximum output of up to 155kW, both engines meet EU Stage V emission regulations.
In expanding our over-56kW class lineup, Yanmar is meeting a wide variety of off-road machinery needs, including construction, agricultural, and material-handling machinery to provide optimum eco-friendly power solutions.
NEW ENGINE CONCEPT
As well as being required to meet strict emission regulations, small industrial engines and large marine engines must meet customer demands for fuel economy and efficiency, with the reliability and durability to deliver lasting value.
Employing diesel engine technology developed over many years and with a meticulous commitment to high-power density※1 and fuel economy, Yanmar has developed new engines, the 4TN101 and the 4TN107, with the aim of meeting strict emission regulations across the world.
- ※1Power density is power output (kW) per unit of displacement (L).
Yanmar has leveraged its combustion technology developed over many years through the manufacture of industrial engines and marine engines to achieve fuel consumption reductions of about 10%※2 compared to similar engines in this output class. Yanmar is helping customers reduce the life cycle costs of engines in this output class, which need to operate for long periods.
- ※2Based upon the comparison of average industry standards with our test results.
Yanmar designs engines with superior rigidity for high-power density. The two stage turbocharger design of the 4TN107 makes it the best in class with a power density of 34kW/L.
Turbocharger and combustion technology optimization achieves the torque needed in a wide range of off-road machinery, including construction, agricultural, and material-handling machinery. With its two stage turbocharger design, the 4TN107 generates peak torque of 805Nm.
Yanmar has made mounting on our customers’ agricultural and industrial machines easier by taking manufacturers’ equipment designs into account to create an engine with a more compact profile. Plus, Yanmar has improved visibility and comfort for our customers’ machinery operators by incorporating our exhaust-gas reduction technology into the engines and minimizing the size of the exhaust-gas after-treatment device.
Yanmar has fitted these engines with proprietary Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF)※3 to reduce Particulate Matter (PM)※4 as well as a proprietary exhaust-gas after-treatment system, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)※5 using urea water. Such technologies, which have been refined from our experience developing smaller industrial engines, allow the 4TN101 and 4TN107 to meet EU Stage V emission regulations. With these systems in place, our customers can continue to operate their vehicles without having to stop, even at high-altitude or in low-temperature environments, or when working with light or heavy loads.
- ※3Filter to remove particulate matter from diesel exhaust
- ※4Suspended particulate matter such as soot
- ※5Technology to detoxify NOX in diesel exhaust by reducing and purifying it with ammonia derived from urea water.
Designed for outputs ranging from 55 to 105kW and 90 to 155kW respectively, the 4TN101 and the 4TN107 give our customers the ability to cover a wide variety of output applications using just one base engine.
