Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA (Yanmar) has announced the integration of Blackburn-based Mellor Plant UK Ltd (Mellor Plant) into its official dealer network. The strategic partnership significantly expands Yanmar’s presence across the vast region of Northwest England, including Manchester; underscoring its commitment to delivering top-tier compact equipment and exceptional on-the-ground customer service.

A new chapter with Yanmar CE

Mellor Plant, a family-run industrial equipment supplier, has been providing its specialist services and engineering expertise in the construction, agricultural, and forestry sectors for over a decade. Under the leadership of its founder and Director Gordon Hayes, the company has grown from a single van operation into a well-established dealership with modern facilities and a dedicated, close-knit team of 11 industry professionals. The new Yanmar dealership marks a significant milestone in Mellor Plant’s journey, bringing a comprehensive range of Yanmar's compact equipment to a broader customer base.

New Northern horizons

Mellor Plant’s new dealership will cover a vast territory, stretching across Northwest England. This expansive region ensures that a diverse range of customers—from farmers and construction specialists to DIY enthusiasts—will have access to Yanmar’s superior equipment and support. Just off the A59, minutes from junction 31 of the M6, Mellor Plant is strategically positioned to provide swift and efficient service across the region, including major hubs like Manchester.

Mellor Plant will offer a comprehensive range of Yanmar equipment, with numerous machines already on-site and ready for customers to explore. The current lineup includes Yanmar’s ViO true zero tail swing excavator series. Among these, the versatile ViO50-6B, with an operating
weight of 4,875 kg, is predicted to be particularly popular among urban construction and landscaping clients, thanks to its powerful Yanmar diesel engine and advanced hydraulic system. Additionally, the SV range, known for its Stage V compliance and ultra-tight turning configuration, is expected to be in high demand. The ultra-compact SV08-1C Conventional Tail excavator, weighing 1,035 kg, is ideal for tight spaces and small-scale tasks, making it a perfect fit for owner-operators and smaller businesses.
