As our Sales Engineer, you will be an essential part of the Commercial Marine Business Unit, driving sales growth, managing key projects, building strong customer relationships, and preparing budget quotations for our products and solutions.

As a Sales Engineer, you will lead sales activities in your assigned territories and product groups, focusing on a range of marine solutions, including various types of engines. Your role is pivotal in driving the sales process, managing customer interactions, and ensuring projects align with client needs and company objectives. You’ll work closely with internal teams to develop tailored solutions and will play an active role in identifying new business opportunities.

  • Identifying Sales Opportunities & Generating Sales Revenue: Actively seek and develop new leads in the maritime industry while nurturing existing customer relationships;
  • Preparing Quotations & Contracts: Draft budget quotations and support contract negotiations to meet client requirements;
  • Project Management: Oversee the sales project lifecycle, ensuring timely coordination and follow-up of administrative tasks;
  • Technical Support: Provide engineering and technical support to customers, clarifying specifications and ensuring products meet their needs;
  • Sales Campaign Involvement: Participate in sales campaigns, such as trade shows, exhibitions, and promotional events, representing the company and driving engagement.

We are seeking a Sales Engineer who combines strong technical expertise, especially engine-related, with sales acumen. You must be self-motivated, proactive, highly organised, and passionate about the maritime industry. Your ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and handle technical specifications will be crucial to your success in this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, ideally in a technical-commercial field such as engineering or business;
  • Solid foundation in both sales processes and technical knowledge, with experience in engines or related products;
  • Demonstrated experience in creating budget quotations and conducting technical calculations;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with PowerBI is a bonus;
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Additional language skills are a plus.

Applicants must currently reside in the Netherlands and possess eligibility to work in the country, including having a valid work permit or passport.

Your regular workplace is in Almere, with hybrid working (40% home/60% office) possible. International travel accounts for approximately 30%.
