As our Application Engineer, you’ll join the Sales and after-sales team in the Commercial Marine Business Unit. You’ll play a key role in providing technical advice and leading post-sale configurations to ensure our solutions are tailored to meet customer-specific needs. You’ll be the vital link between our stakeholders (e.g., factory, ship designers, shipyards, and ship owners), ensuring smooth communication and support every step of the way.

What are you going to do?

As an Application Engineer, you will directly engage with customers, focusing on understanding their requirements and delivering tailored solutions. You will handle various responsibilities that drive customer satisfaction and contribute to our success.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

• Sales Support: Offer technical advice and ensure our proposals are spot-on and align with our policies.
• Application Engineering: Lead post-sale configurations and design custom solutions while preparing necessary documentation and reports.
• Start-up Support: Assist customers during initial product setups, keeping projects on track and tackling any challenges.
• Product Improvement: Developing and suggesting new solutions or upgrades that meet customer needs, driving high-quality results and solutioneering.
• Relationship Management: Work closely with Sales and After-Sales teams to foster strong partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal Application Engineer has a solid technical background and a passion for engineering. You should be able to break down complex technical concepts and be excited about crafting tailored solutions for our customers. Your expertise should include mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems relevant to the marine sector.

The ideal candidate

• Holds an HBO (or equivalent by experience) in electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering;
• Has relevant experience in application engineering or a similar role;
• Demonstrates a keen interest in the maritime industry;
• Is self-starting, solution-driven, and flexible;
• Is open to occasional travel (approximately 20%);
• Possesses strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.

Applicants must currently reside in the Netherlands and possess eligibility to work in the country, including having a valid work permit or passport.

Your primary workplace will be Almere, but hybrid working (40% home/60% office) is possible in this position. This role requires occasional travel for customer interactions and support.
