Over the last few years, Yanmar Recreational Marine Business Unit and its headquarters at Yanmar Marine International B.V. (YMI) have achieved significant growth through global business expansion and successful acquisitions.
This Project Manager position is pivotal in concurrently managing various projects, ranging from new product development to strategic initiatives at both YMI B.V. and global Yanmar Marine Business Unit levels, comprising 15 entities.

What are you going to do?
As a Project Manager, you’ll lead diverse projects globally, ensuring timely execution and budget adherence. Beyond general project management, you’ll handle product management, overseeing new products, life cycle projects, and strategic initiatives.
Your influence extends to shaping crucial commercial aspects, contributing significantly to the company’s overall success. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects that involve innovation and sustainability.
This role positions you in the driver seat of Yanmar’s course, impacting both projects and the core commercial fabric of the organization.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Product related project management: oversee general project management for initiatives such as new product development;
- Cross-departmental collaboration;
- Stakeholder management;
- Strategic project management: lead general project management for the company’s strategic initiatives of different variations;
- Process improvements: design and implement improvements, innovate and refine existing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Who are we looking for?
The Project Manager is a professional with deep understanding of product development, and solid experience in technical industries. Your background in project management together with exceptional organizational and communicational skills, allows you to successful lead a diverse scale of projects.
To excel in this position, you’ll need more than technical prowess. A vibrant personality, a proactive attitude, and a positive mindset are crucial elements for success. If you are passionate about sea and marine life, this role will give you the opportunity to develop cutting-edge products.
The ideal candidate:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (HBO / WO) in a relevant field. Master’s degree is a plus;
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience (e.g. Product development, Project manager);
- Solid background in technical industries (e.g. Industrial machinery, automotive, hardware);
- Big plus having a Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, IPMA, PMP);
- The following mindset qualities apply to you: collaborative, proactive, bright and organized.
- Strong language skills, fluent in both spoken and written English.
Applicants must currently reside in the Netherlands and possess eligibility to work in the country, including having a valid work permit or passport.
Work location:
Your regular workplace is Almere, but hybrid working (40% home/60% office) is possible in this position.
