OSAKA, Japan (June 28, 2019), The Yanmar Museum located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, near the hometown of Yanmar's founder, Magokichi Yamaoka will reopen on October 5th, 2019, following an extensive renewal.
First opened in March 2013 as part of the commemorations of the centennial of the founding of the company, the museum has welcomed over 550,000 guests to date. Building on the previous success of the museum, the renewal transforms the space into a hands-on experience where the younger generation that bear society's hopes for the future can learn through new exhibits built on the concept of "Challenges towards an exciting future."

Inside the museum, visitors will be able to hear episodes relating Yanmar founder Magokichi Yamaoka's spirit of challenge and learn about agriculture and fisheries through immersive simulations. Other hands-on exhibits offer the chance to pilot a pleasure boat or operate construction equipment, highlighting the diverse utility of Yanmar's equipment in the domains of the land, the sea and the city.
Through such hands-on activities, Yanmar aspires not only to nurture a spirit of challenge, but to encourage visitors to learn more about food production, energy utilization and urban development.
Other educational features are a corner showing the history of Yanmar since its creation over a century ago and a rooftop biotope where visitors can experience the richness of the local environment. A range of Yanmar original goods are available in the Museum giftshop, while the Museum café boasts a selection of foods from the local area.

The Yanmar Museum website will be accepting early reservations from early September 2019. Further information regarding hours of operation, events and more, will be made available closer to opening.
